Its 27th May today and we are grateful to the
Lord for the time spent with our precious children and their families.
On 15th
May we started the exercise of visiting all our sponsored children in the three
districts of Uganda, to know more about them and how they have been impacted by
the ministry.
Spending time with each of the sponsored children was an opportunity
to hear more about their dreams in life and the assurance they have to achieve
them when they grow up. They have this hope that they will become great women
and men of God who will transform their communities.
Each child that we visited was given a food package from
Victory Light House Church in New Albany Indiana and others also received gifts
from their sponsors. Thank you for the love that you have for each of these
children!
Through the visitation we were able to identify a number of challenges
ranging from personal to the entire families of our children. Our prayer is
that you will stand with us as we pray for each of the children and their
families. Pray for;
1. Distance from homes to school.
The distance between our children’s schools and their homes
is very big and so they have to wake up very early in the morning, fetch water and
then run to school which is very hard for them to keep time and concentrate in
class. They get very little or even no time for revision and this has greatly
affected their performance at school. Pray
that God will provide funds to enable us construct both a primary and secondary
school to lessen on the long distance. Pray also for wisdom upon our children
2. Low house hold income.
Most Families survive on $1 a day or even less and having 1
meal a day becomes the only option. They depend on subsistence farming and yet
they also they don’t own land to carry out their faming. They hire the land and
each harvest they have to spare rent for the land owners which is fixed despite
the low income from their farm products. This leaves them with very little to
meet their essential needs.Pray that we will be able to raise the support
for each family to finance sustainability project that will increase their household
income.
3. Sick parents and old guardians.
Most of our children either live with their single mothers
or grandmothers. Some mothers are HIV positive and yet the only people in the
families that they rely on. The old grandparents are too old to dig and yet
farming is the source of the family income. Pray for the health of these
parents and their grandparents. Pray for Jamali’s mother who broke her leg in a
running car accident. Pray for healing and the good Lord will bless you.
We are grateful to God for all our children’s sponsors and
for Victory Light House Church for the love and support. Thank you all for your
prayers, we have seen your prayers working and God has been so good to us. Continue
praying for our children who are still waiting for sponsors for God to open
doors for them.
