CHILD HOME VISITATION

Today was a wonderful day and we really enjoyed it. It was day one of the child visitation and enjoyed spending quality time with Sylvia and Annet’s families. They live about 160 kilometers from the city of Kampala in a village of Kibogo.
We were unexpected visitors and so it was a surprise visit to all the families but planned on our side. We will be visiting every child’s family to spend quality time with them, ask them a few questions to  help us understand more about our children and how they have been impacted by the sponsorship program.
First it was Sylvia, Jim and Joy’s sponsored child and then Annet the new child to the family sponsored by Ron McCullough.
We found Sylvia in the garden and the grand mother was not home but she joined us later. Sylvia’s family earns from subsistence farming and they also grow coffee on a very small scale. We asked her how she contributes to the family’s income and she said she wakes up very early in the morning to dig before she goes to school. She also said she helps in picking coffee and then takes it out for drying which makes it ready for the market. She loves doing this and she loves her grandmother.
Food package- Rice, Sugar, Maize Flour, Macarons, salt, cooking oil
When we asked her how FoHA’s sponsorship program has contributed to their welfare at home she quickly said “we were saved from water borne diseases because of the water filter that I received as a gift from my sponsor.” Thank you Jim and Joy!
Sylvia’s greatest fear is ‘Death’; her favorite food is Rice and Beef. She said she is short tempered but she loves people and considers a person’s character so much before she accepts them as friends. We were humbled by her three wishes and we believe by the grace of God she will get them.
We went to Annet’s family there after and still in the same case as surprise visitors. She had the Joy of getting a sponsor and for the food basket which was a gift we got for each sponsored child through the bake sale from Victory Lighthouse Church in New Albany Indiana.

Annet also lives with her grand mother and she is 17 years. The last time she visited a doctor was a year ago but she has a challenge with her eyes. Her greatest fear is ‘AIDS’ and her best food is Irish Potatoes.
Annet is a choir leader at her church and her favorite bible characters are John and Mark. Will you stand with Annet in prayer as she trusts God for; Strength, Wisdom and Knowledge.

We are visiting every child’s family and we are also delivering the food package from Victory Lighthouse Church to all our children. The questions for our children are challenging but their answers are humbling.
We are sharing with our children and letting them know how much we believe in them as a ministry to transform their communities. We love them and we are grateful to all our sponsors, Thank you so much!
