Not too long ago a church was planted in Mityana District in
Central Uganda about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Kampala the capital of Uganda
and 45 minutes from Mityana city to Kibogo village where New Hope Church is.
Pastor Tom Matovu 59 years is the pastor of New Hope Church and is
married to Juliet 56 years and together they have 5 children (2 boys and 3
girls) and 2 spiritual sons.

He is one of the Rural Health Evangelists who was trained and
started a fellowship in his house which grew to a church that started in May
2015. Currently the church has about 20 regular members with over 40 children.

After leaving the house the first Sunday service was in a
temporary structure under tarpaulins to shelter them from sun shine and rain
and this is where they are up to now but half of the shelter was roofed as we
were getting ready for the 17th to 18th July 2015 RHE training and the other
part is still covered by tarpaulins.
There are a few benches and some members come with stools to sit
on during the service and then the children sit on mats. There are no drums
yet and the church is still under construction but we thank God that the land
on which the church is belongs to the ministry (Focus on Health Africa)
We have this faith that God is working on all the church’s needs as
we preach the gospel of the living God.

is located and the needs of the community that will be addressed through the
church.
Since the church started there has not been any mission to preach
the gospel in the village but the pastor has been moving door to door asking
people to give their lives to Jesus Christ and 7 people have joined and others
have recommitted their lives to Jesus Christ, we give the glory to God.
We have organized a three days Evangelism mission in August from
20th to 22nd and then on 23rd we will close
the mission with a service to officially open the church.
During the mission we will be moving from door to door preaching
the gospel of Christ, Evangelism crusade in the evening where we will also show
a Christian movie. During the door to
door evangelism, we will be giving out clothes received in donations and also
renovate houses for the elderly people using local materials.
